Who doesn't love to travel right?
I'm addicted to it, Indeed it was the spark which reignited my passion for photography. After selling most of what I owned and buying a van, I converted it into a camper and travelled as far north as Norway and then drove south as far as Morocco, Artic circle to the Sahara. I was on a hunt for stories, for landscapes, for a life more interesting than what I'd become accustomed to.
But I wanted to record these stories, or at least my interpretation of them. The camera came out of storage.
For me travel photography is not just about capturing picturesque landscapes or iconic landmarks; its about conveying the essence of a place and its culture while highlighting the unique experiences that shape the journey.
The key is authenticity, I always strive to engage with local communities, seeking out those unique interactions and perspectives that enrich the narrative.
Ultimately , effective travel photography invites viewers to explore new worlds and understand diverse cultures through the lens of personal experience and artistic expression.
I'm always looking for new opportunities to travel and experience different cultures. Always looking to take more photos and make more friends.

My methodology around street photography is built around a deep appreciation for the spontaneous, often unfiltered moments of everyday life in urban environments. I believe this genre of photography thrives on the photographers ability to capture genuine interactions, candid expressions and the raw energy of the streets, transforming fleeting instances into lasting art.
I like to get attuned to my surroundings, breathe the air and feel the dirt beneath my shoes. Get boots on the ground so to speak, get up close and personal with the subject, the street, feel its energy, smell its breath, understand its humour, beliefs and motivations.
Doing the above, taking my time allows me to feel a heightened sense of observation and to anticipate and react to unfolding scenes.
I like to blend into the background on these shoots. they are a celebration of humanity and a glimpse into the shared experiences which unite us all, framed within the dynamic backdrop of city life.

Before I was a photographer I was a musician & songwriter. Before it was a camera, it was a guitar and a notepad.
I loved telling stories and connecting with my audience through my lyrics. But you know the saying right?
"a picture tells a thousand words"
Well here I find myself , holding a camera with a lot to say.
Great music and event photography is about capturing the spirit, the essence of the performance. Its about understanding what makes the performance unique and how it unites the audience and the artist. I am the vehicle which transports those unforgettable moments into the timeless, who captures that magic and freezes it, preserving it forever.
I understand music, its composition. Its like I already have the script in my hands so I know when and where to point my camera for maximum effect.
Ultimately event photography is about encapsulating the shared experience of celebration and connection, creating lasting memories that resonate long after the music fades.

Health, Fitness & Sport has played a huge role in my life. Professionally, as a Personal Trainer and Strength and Conditioning coach, it's how I kept a roof over my head and my campervan on the road whilst I explored my passion for photography. Lately it has supplemented my photo work and given me the freedom to be selective with what I shoot and whom I shoot with. If you aren't invested in the project, if you don't resonate with your subject, it will tell in the images you create.
Understanding an athlete, their mindset, the struggles they go through, day in, day out, in order to cross that line and compete, that gives a sports photographer an edge. Anticipating the movement and shooting your shot, going on the 'B' of the Bang as we say in sport.
For all the preparation, all the hard work, sport often comes down to the minor details, brief moments. Capturing these instances and the emotive reactions they ignite is what makes sport and fitness such an interesting genre of photography.
As a species we have long marvelled over the human physique, from sculptures like Michelangelos' 'David' through to the modern day photos of fitness models who's bodies were chiseled in the gym.
With my professional understanding of the body and movement patterns I know how to get that pose just right.

Wedding photography is not just about capturing moments, it goes beyond that. It encompasses an appreciation for the emotional tapestry of the day, the intricate details that weave the narrative, and the dynamics between individuals. For me, this is the key component, the dynamics between individuals, the subtle looks. the looks of encouragement, of reassurance , of pride, of love. We often say more with our expressions and body language than we do with words. this is were good wedding photography really stands out.
Understanding this is crucial because weddings are significant life events with a variety of emotions. The skill is capturing the intimacy of the moment whilst protecting the vulnerability of it.
The poses you can practice, a good photographer can manipulate lighting and angles, these things are all a given. The talent comes in making it look authentic and timeless.

Good portrait photography begins with recognising the subjects personality, furthermore their emotion or intention towards the desired outcome. Is it a headshot for an acting role? Is it for a website or press release? Fun or professional? each intention contributes a varriable which the photographer must take into consideration. For example: A shadow rich, tilted black and white headshot might be great for the artwork on the next single, just not so good if you're selling organic soap to little old ladies at a village fair.
its all about intentions and desired outcomes.
Its about how we present you in a way which says 'I'm who you are looking for'
Personally I think a good 85mm f1.4 lens is perfect for this, allowing that nice melted background and crisp foreground. It really does make you just pop right out of the shot.

Reflecting a brands identity and aesthetic, creating a visual narrative which showcases the product is all about identifying the target market and what appeals to them stylistically.
I love working in collaboration with designers, stylists and models. It fosters an environment of creativity where diverse ideas can flourish, resulting in innovative concepts that resonate with the audience.
I Like to understand the brands principles first and foremost. This allows me to communicate their ethos and values through an image, ensuring each shot contributes to the overarching narrative.
In essense, for me, Fashion or Brand photography is about more than just showcasing clothing or a product; its about crafting an emotional connection that draws viewers in, making them aspire to be part of the lifestyle presented.

To observe this world, to marvel at its beauty is a joy within itself. Putting a camera in my hand and capturing this beauty, this earth and its inhabitants of feather, fluff and fin is both a powerful therapy and an artistic conduit for when words fail me.
Telling the stories of ecosystems, documenting the behaviours of animals, highlighting the inticate details of flora and fauna. This genre of photography is perhaps the most important.
The urgent need for conservation, the rewilding of not only regions, but ourselves. The raising of awareness, the education and inspiration of future generations is reliant on telling natures story and weaving in into our own.
Wether a soaring eagle or a delicate flower, a burning forest or a crashing wave. If out of sight is out of mind, I will not rest. I will deliver this most natural of beauty to your consciousness one shot at a time.
